Thrilled to share a unique commission that I created for Hudson Valley Seed Co.! HVSC sells a beautiful line of artist-designed seed packs. This past summer, they invited me to make an art piece inspired by the flower “Dyer’s Coreopsis”. Coreopsis blossoms are used in natural dyeing for a wide palette, from oranges to yellows, sage greens, light pinks. I’ve wanted to dive into natural dyeing for the longest time, and took this opportunity to learn to dye wool and fabric with this luminous wildflower. Prints of my commissioned artwork are also available for purchase. A huge thank you to Hudson Valley Seed Co. for this opportunity!
